Scott,
; ; I did not use an ND filter, I exposed for the castle and set f/14 so it would expose a little longer. It was a single RAW shot and I did 3 runs through Adobe Camera Raw with the same shot so that each part of the shot would be exposed the way I wanted. I then used layer masking to punch through to each layer I found most pleasing. I flattened the 3 layers and then used detail enhancer with NIK Color Efex ; and again used layer masking to only use the parts of the NIK layer I found better. Last I used some sharpening and noise reduction where I had to.

Thank you for the detailed explanation. ; I am more of a meatball photo processor (think MASH) as I do not have a lot of time normally to really process photos like this. ; I do want to learn and have PS. ; Might have to take a month off from shooting to add these skills.

And are you doing some major cropping then too?

Sent from my iPhone...

blueburst by mwjw, on Flickr

This one is not cropped at all...coulda been a little for this burst but left it uncropped. The other shot was only cropped on the bottom just a little to get rid of some of the tree line that was unecessary. The lens is a 70-300mm but my camera is a D7000 which is a DX format, the lens is a full frame FX lens, the photo was shot at 270mm but on the DX format it made it 405mm. ;

It's 5 o'clock somewhere, and golden hour in Tomorrowland is a good place for it. ; Just don't expect to find a drink there.
