here is a new idea for a POTD thread to keep up all motivated, working, and learning...
Your best RAW saves! ; I know that this is totally against the technical merits of the artform (and that is not the point of this thread), but it is still fun to learn and see what you can do with a little bit of PP skills...

here is billy from old town san diego, 2007...
 
I don't actually have any RAW saves...but can we include JPG saves too? ; Those I have!

Here's another pretty decent recovery, considering the original. ; This was all kinds of off - slightly OOF, badly blown highlights, blooming, bad PF, crushed shadows, high ISO noise, white balance issues...I relegated this one originally to the pass-by bin, not processing it the first time around. ; Only a few days ago, when going through some of my 'lost causes' when I have a little time to play, to see if anything could be dragged out of this shot, did I give a concerted effort towards processing this one. ; On its own, it isn't a great shot...but compared to the original, I was pretty happy with the recovery efforts:

This is an older one that went through RAW as well as a couple of filters. ; I have no technical skill in taking pictures so I have to improvise a lot! ; :D

Weather conditions weren't that great.

Turned down the brightness.... ; increased contrast..... adjusted white balance to "Shade".... darkened the shadows..... and added more saturation.
 
From the "well, that was a brilliant idea" comes this result when shooting straight at a piece of mirrored glass with the flash.
