I said "never", but i do plan on going without them in a few years when they are out on their own! ;

Maybe we should have a poll about going without your spouse!!!! ; ; ;D

I said "never" too - course, when they're out on their own, at university, all bets are off! :-) ; I'm with Hamham on that - and even though we're similar vintages, I believe, I think his kids are older than mine... :-)

sorry - meant highland - the nicknames are confusing at times... for an old gal like me, anyhoo.. :-)

I agree it's all about the kids right now. The 2 youngest Hamettes are 14 & 10. Soon the kids won't want to come with us.
DW and I are not real night owls either so not heading out to night spots aren't on our top 10 list.

NSM ;when you say "leaving the kids behind" it sounds like they've been abandoned at the airport or a mall.

I guess I have to say yes seeing as how I left them home for Mousefest. That is probably the only time I would go without them.

I agree with you, Mousefest would be a bit too much for any child unless they are prepared to go commando. I must say I not even sure if my wife could keep up with the pace we went at Mousefest. At my estimations I only spent a total of 28 hrs in the room out of 96 hrs, the rest were spent at the parks (and also Jellyrolls).

LOL ... you guys are bringing back abandonment issues ; :P

My parents took the gang of us when I was just shy of 2 years, and then just shy of 8 years. Both times were driving trips, and we never went on any other vacation.

I was the last child, and went away to university at 17, and lo and behold, my parents book a trip to WDW on their own. Nothing says "we're happy to be rid of you" than that! :-*

Seriously, it didn't bother me one bit - I knew how crazy, disney-obsessed my parents had to be to make WDW their primary choice of vacation. The apple doesn't fall far from the tree ... ; ;)

Heck, I can't wait until I can leave the kidlet at home!

When I meet up with friends for "adult" time, I just drag her along! ; There is always a designated driver, so they keep each other company, while the others have some fun!

Unfortunately, I don't see that happening in the near future, as she still wants to go!LOL

At this point, no.....we want to take a family vacation there in the next few years....but when he is out on his own, I would have no trouble (far away as that is)
